-
Hi,
-
this is Martina Navratilova,
-
and this is "The Singles Playbook."
-
I love this because if you really want to get better in singles,
-
this will tell you how to play to your strength,
-
how to attack your opponent's weaknesses,
-
and how to avoid mistakes.
-
What's up,
-
Will Hamilton here,
-
and that was Martina Navratilova.
-
You know,
-
Martina is one of the greatest singles players of all time,
-
and she personally contributed her favorite plays to the singles playbook,
-
"The Newt."
-
One of my favorite volleys.
-
Especially when you're playing against a pusher,
-
the newt volley,
-
you know,
-
the undeveloped frog.
-
In other words,
-
keep the ball short and low.
-
Everybody hates to have to hit a passing shot from that volley.
-
So remember the newt volley.
-
But it's not just Martina.
-
It's also two-time U.S. Open champ and former world number one Patrick Rafter.
-
He contributed his twist on the serve and volley.
-
He contributed a
-
play called "The Lleyton."
-
This one is awesome.
-
You know,
-
I asked Pat,
-
"Who was the toughest returner you ever faced?"
-
And Pat said,
-
"Well,
-
it was Lleyton Hewitt because he ran a play
-
called The Lleyton that is just perfect for
-
neutralizing an aggressive serve and volley player."
-
Heck,
-
even the Bryan brothers,
-
who are the greatest men's doubles team of all time,
-
they've got a play called "The Preacher" that works great in singles.
-
And it's not just players,
-
it's also coaches.
-
Craig O'Shannessy,
-
current coach of Novak Djokovic.
-
Well,
-
he's an analytics whiz.
-
He crunches the numbers to find the high
-
percentage and low percentage plays you can use.
-
We've worked all of that into the singles playbook.
-
The 2-1,
-
for example,
-
is one of the signature plays from the pro tour because it's so high percentage,
-
so effective.
-
So, what I want to do is invite you to pick up a copy of the singles playbook.
-
If you want to start running plays that allow you to play to your strengths,
-
attack your opponent's weaknesses,
-
and avoid making mistakes.
-
Well,
-
there's no faster way to do it
-
than with the singles playbook here.
-
The singles playbook is organized according to
-
what kind of player you're playing against.
-
So, for example,
-
if you're playing a certain volleyer like me,
-
this will tell you exactly what to do.
-
Good luck.
-
So, if we flip to one of the plays in here,
-
and again there's 41 plays in this thing,
-
you can see right there,
-
but if we flip to
-
home base,
-
you can see that this is a play for rallying against an aggressive baseliner.
-
And you can see there's three diagrams showing you exactly how to hit
-
and how to move
-
to run this play.
-
Now what you'll notice in the top right corner here is a QR code,
-
basically a fancy name for a barcode.
-
And what you're gonna do is you're gonna take out your phone,
-
you're going to open up your phone's camera.
-
I see the camera is open.
-
I could take a selfie if I wanted to,
-
and I'm going to point
-
the camera at the QR code. And you see when I did that,
-
see that link that just popped up here,
-
I'm going to click on it,
-
it takes me to a webpage with a video
-
of Home Base.
-
You can see this video is less than 2 minutes long,
-
and what that allows you to do
-
is
-
look at the diagram and follow along with the video,
-
get the explanation of what is going on,
-
and very quickly,
-
right before a match,
-
you can get a refresher on exactly
-
how to run this play. And the coolest part about this whole
-
process is you don't have to download anything for this to work.
-
You literally just have to open up your camera,
-
the software is already built into the camera to read the QR codes.
-
It doesn't matter if it's an iPhone,
-
an Android,
-
a tablet like an iPad,
-
it'll work out of the box.
-
You just need to point your camera at the QR code,
-
it'll instantly take you to the video.
-
So, every play in the singles playbook is like this.
-
They all have QR codes in the top right corner taking
-
you a quick video explanation of what you're looking at.
-
So, let's pretend we're scanning the QR code on the home base page.
-
Here's the actual video that comes up.
-
Rallying against the aggressive baseliner.
-
So, one of the plays you can use is Home Base,
-
and this is a great play because it forces the
-
aggressive baseliner to take all the risk to attack you.
-
So, to set the stage we've got a
-
cross-court sword to sword rally,
-
not the greatest situation to find yourself in against an aggressive baseliner,
-
and you can see the area of the court
-
you're giving away is a little bit smaller than normal
-
because the aggressive baseliners can take that ball down the line,
-
and it's something you need to be aware of,
-
right?
-
So, the way home base works is very simple.
-
If the ball
-
crosses the plane of your body and is an outside ground stroke,
-
you have to send it back cross court.
-
But if it doesn't cross the plane of your body and it's an inside ground stroke,
-
then you can change the direction
-
of the tennis ball.
-
Now,
-
you might say to yourself,
-
well,
-
in
-
this exchange here,
-
I might
-
want to go down the line,
-
get the ball away from the aggressive baseliner's sword.
-
That's real tough to do.
-
If they're hitting aggressive shots,
-
it's probably smarter to just keep the rally
-
going,
-
even though they're going to burn you down the line sometime
-
versus taking a high risk shot where you're going to make an error,
-
or you could leave it sitting,
-
and then they're going to step in and put that ball away.
-
So, keep this rally
-
going,
-
and then when you get an inside ground stroke,
-
that's when you can change the direction of the ball,
-
and this would certainly be a case where you would want to go
-
at the aggressive baseliners
-
shield
-
here.
-
And this, of course, would be an outside ground stroke.
-
You would shift over and ideally you would get an inside groundstroke
-
and you could set up the red zone.
-
But if the ball comes back and crosses that plane,
-
then you got to send it back cross-court for
-
the
-
rule of home base.
-
And if you hit a good shot,
-
then you can slide over a little bit more and then hopefully
-
it makes it more likely that your next shot would be an inside ground stroke,
-
an inside sword in this case,
-
and then you can set up the red zone.
-
You might have an overall strategy to do stuff during a match,
-
but you need to really go play by play,
-
point by point.
-
Pros run plays,
-
club players don't,
-
and this is what you can change.
-
So, when we first released the singles playbook,
-
this thing was 397 bucks,
-
but for the new and improved
-
2019 edition,
-
I wanted to do something special.
-
Instead of paying 397 bucks,
-
you can get your hands on this thing for just one payment of $67.
-
And hey,
-
when you pick up a copy today,
-
we're gonna throw in three amazing bonuses.
-
Now,
-
the first one,
-
I'm pumped about all of them,
-
but the first one is really cool because
-
the playbook is gonna solve the confidence in your shots problem,
-
but there's also the nerves problem,
-
right?
-
It's a close match.
-
It's late in the third set,
-
and you get nervous and tight.
-
So, how do you handle your nerves?
-
Well,
-
it turns out there's a technique to the mental game.
-
There's a technique to dealing with nerves just
-
like there's a technique to hitting a forehand,
-
a backhand,
-
and a serve,
-
and that's what we're gonna give you inside of stop choking on big points.
-
So, if you're wondering,
-
well,
-
what do these techniques look like,
-
we can use one of them right now so you can
-
see if this is cool and something you're interested in.
-
So, you gotta have your feet on the ground for this to work,
-
so stand up or if you're sitting with your feet on the ground,
-
that works too.
-
Now think of a pink elephant,
-
right?
-
Visualize that pink elephant.
-
Now grind your toes
-
into the floor and focus
-
on that sensation.
-
Now what you'll notice if you do this a couple of times is it is impossible
-
to
-
think about that pink elephant.
-
It's impossible to have any thoughts
-
if you're focusing on a physical sensation.
-
So, that is one technique that allows you to wipe the slate clean.
-
So, if you're thinking about winning,
-
if you're thinking about losing,
-
if you're thinking about what your teammates think,
-
this is how you snap out of that.
-
And the way you want to use this particular technique
-
is right before you return serve.
-
You walk up to the line,
-
you focus on the sensation on your feet to wipe your mind clean,
-
and then you focus on the tennis ball right before your opponent tosses.
-
That allows you to be focused on the ball
-
as the point starts.
-
So inside,
-
stop choking on big points.
-
We've got Jeff Greenwald,
-
a sports psychologist,
-
one of the best recreational players in the world.
-
He just won the 40s,
-
I think,
-
as a 51-year-old USDA 40s national.
-
The guy's incredibly good.
-
But he is a sports psychologist,
-
master in clinical and sports psychology.
-
He's gonna walk you through all of these techniques.
-
I think you're gonna find his technique for serving awesome.
-
How do you serve under pressure,
-
get that first serve in,
-
hold serve,
-
win a breaker.
-
So, this program is amazing.
-
It's normally
-
97 bucks,
-
but you get it absolutely free when you pick up a
-
copy of the singles playbook because it's just a perfect compliment,
-
right?
-
The singles playbook is that confidence in your shot's problem
-
and now stop choking on big points is the nerve's problem.
-
Now the second bonus
-
is called live arm,
-
and this is gonna show you how to accelerate your
-
arm like a Formula One race car when you're serving.
-
You know,
-
I'm not a big guy.
-
I'm 5'8,
-
I'm a buck 40,
-
but
-
my serve's actually pretty good.
-
I can hit it over 100 miles an hour.
-
It's got a lot of rotation,
-
heavy kick serve,
-
and the reason why is because I've got a ton of racket head speed.
-
Now,
-
I wasn't born with that.
-
I developed it by following
-
this program.
-
So, this program was developed by Dr. Mark Kovacs,
-
and if you don't know Dr. Kovacs,
-
well,
-
he is the man.
-
He's one of the
-
leading
-
performance experts when it comes to tennis.
-
He has the world's leading study on the serve.
-
He was
-
the
-
director of the Gatorade Sports Science Institute.
-
He was
-
the director of strength and conditioning at the USTA.
-
He now has the Kovacs Institute
-
outside of Atlanta,
-
Georgia.
-
Pros flying from all around the world
-
and Mark measures all of like their stats,
-
right?
-
He has them serve off force plates.
-
He measures their arm speed.
-
He does all this crazy stuff to help them optimize performance.
-
And in all of his research,
-
he's identified
-
four stretches and ten exercises
-
that'll allow you to develop a live arm.
-
I've been through that program.
-
That's why my serve is pretty good for a little guy
-
and one of the exercises I can show you right now might find it interesting,
-
maybe something you've never seen before.
-
This would be something you do right before a match.
-
You're gonna take your hand.
-
I'm lefty,
-
your serving hand,
-
put it on your back like this,
-
your fingers.
-
And then you're just gonna pull forward,
-
gently
-
to stretch and you'll feel the stretch up here.
-
So, this is one of the exercises to improve your flexibility and then
-
obviously there's exercises you can do in the gym to improve your explosiveness.
-
Program is awesome.
-
When we sold it in the past,
-
it was $291, but again included for free when
-
you pick up a copy of the singles playbook.
-
So, the last bonus is called the windshield wiper forehand made
-
simple.
-
It is awesome
-
and it's critical if you learned the classic forehand.
-
That's where you finish up over your shoulder.
-
Classic forehands are great,
-
but they don't have as much rotation as the windshield wiper forehand.
-
They don't let you hit as hard because you don't have as much control.
-
Windshield wiper looks like a windshield
-
wiper blade moving across the windshield.
-
You kind of
-
end
-
up down here.
-
Federer hits it,
-
Nadal hits it.
-
All the top pros are hitting it.
-
That's why their forehands are so good.
-
And when you pair live arm,
-
which is going to give you a much faster serve,
-
more spin
-
with a windshield wiper forehand,
-
that's gonna really strengthen your sword.
-
Well,
-
that is really when you start to play to your strengths and improve your strengths,
-
be able to attack the weaknesses better,
-
and then of course you make fewer mistakes because you
-
got a lot more rotation on the tennis ball.
-
So, this program is with Feisal Hassan.
-
He's one of the best coaches in the world,
-
2011 USPTA Coach of the Year.
-
I can't even remember how many teams he's taken to sectionals,
-
districts,
-
nationals.
-
I think it's over 70.
-
Don't
-
quote me on that,
-
but it's way up there.
-
But bottom line,
-
Feisal is a master of taking club players and club players
-
who learned kind of more of a traditional old school classic game
-
and teaching them the modern game and getting them to be able to master it
-
quickly.
-
So, if that's something you're interested in,
-
you should totally pick this program up.
-
Normally, it's 97 bucks.
-
But again,
-
totally free included when you pick up a copy
-
of the singles playbook here on this page.
-
Okay,
-
so here's the deal.
-
When you place your order here on this page today,
-
this is what you're getting.
-

-
that is a $291 value.
-

-
that is a $97 value.
-
When you add it all together,
-
that is 882 bucks worth of stuff, you are getting for just one payment today
-
of $67.
-

-
your confidence tanks,
-
and you just keep the ball in play.
